General terms and conditions

Campo Bicicleta’s/ Bike Rent Girona general terms and conditions apply to any agreement between Campo Bicicleta and the customer. The general terms and conditions apply to every bicycle rental and bike tour.

Liability

  • We do everything we can to keep you safe and healthy during your holiday. However, you go on holiday entirely at your own risk.
  • Campo Bicicleta is not liable for theft, damage, illness, death, falls, changes to your trip, etc. You are fully responsible for accidents and damage while cycling. If you want to be insured during your holiday, you must take care of this yourself.
  • As a customer you have had the opportunity to check the material and see that it is suitable for the intended use.

Booking and payment conditions

  • To make a reservation, mail the agreement, completed and signed, back to info@campobicicleta.com. And do the full payment via our bank Sabadell, an online payment platform. We will send you a payment link and you can pay with the credit-/ debit-card
  • We use your personal data for our own archive and for the reservation of your accommodation in Girona. This means you don’t have to show anything during check-in and you can immediately enjoy your holiday.

Cancellation

  • If you want to cancel the reservation, this must be communicated in advance via info@campobicicleta.com.
  • If you cancel up to 45 days before the arrival date, you will receive a refund of 80% of the total amount.
  • If you cancel up to 7 days before the arrival date, you will receive a refund of 70% of the total amount.
  • If you cancel later then 7 days before the arrival date, or no show up, we will charge the full amount.
  • In the event of partial cancellation (one or more people from your group booking cancels): the same cancellation conditions above apply for the bike(s) of the person(s) that cancels.
  • In case you booked a bike tour with us: The same cancellation conditions above apply for our bike tours. In the event of partial cancellation, we can only reimburse the rental bicycle under the above conditions. We cannot guarantee a refund of accommodation costs, but it depends on the form of the accommodation you have chosen. In the event of a partial cancellation, we will always look at a possible reimbursement of the travel sum in consultation with you (that is the main booker).
  • The above conditions also apply to cancellations due to force majeure (such as natural disasters) (80% return up to 45 days in advance, 70% return up to 7 days in advance and 0% return later).

The rental bike

  • The bicycle is not insured. You are responsible for damage and theft. Campo Bicicleta is solely responsible for wear and tear of the tires, chain, sprockets, cables and brake pads. For any other type of damage, you pay the repair costs or, if repair is not possible, the purchase price of the part.
  • For every (new) scratch on the bicycle that cannot be repaired, you pay € 25 per scratch.
  • You must inform Campo Bicicleta immediately in the event of any fall or damage. The bicycle must always be checked by us. This means that parts can be replaced immediately – when necessary – and you can also safely go out on the bike the following days. If you do not immediately report a fall and/or damage, you always pay the purchase price of the part.
  • In the event of theft, you pay the purchase price.
  • It is not allowed to tinker with the bicycles yourself, with the exception of adjusting the saddle height and replacing the pedals.
  • In case of any kind of mechanical problems on the road we do not offer assistance on the spot. You can contact us to ask for advice or contact this bike taxi company: Xevi: +34608697050. Pickups on the road you organise and pay this yourself.
  • If the booked bike is not available due to delivery problems of Bianchi, we will provide a bike of comparable quality if Bianchi has been able to provide us with one.
  • All bike rentals start on the morning of the first rental day and you need to return the bike before closing time on the last rental day. A collection the evening before is not possible for logistical reasons. We do not know when the bike will be returned by the previous client and all bikes are then washed, charged and serviced before the next morning. A single day rental starts when the shop opens in the morning, and you need to return the bike on the same day before closing time.

Pick up of the rental bike

  • You pick up your bike on the first rental day.
  • Address for pick up is: Carrer Enric Claudi Girbal i Nadal 16, Girona.
  • You pick up your bike in our opening hours: 8am – 11am and 4pm – 7pm. If you want to pick up the bike outside our opening hours you can make an appointment with us via email.
  • Bring your passport/ ID card. We will make a copy of it.

Returning the rental bike

  • You return the bike on the last rental day before 7pm.
  • Address for return is: Carrer Enric Claudi Girbal i Nadal 16, Girona.
  • You return the bike in our opening hours: 8am – 11am and 4pm – 7pm. If you want to return the bike outside our opening hours you can make an appointment with us via email.
  • When you return the bike our mechanic will check the bike if all is ok. If there is any (new) damage and you did not contracted our insurance, you pay it in the same moment of returning the bike. In case the mechanic is not present (for example if you return the bike outside the opening hours) he will check the bike later that day or the next day and if there is new damage and you did not contracted our insurance, we´ll send you a payment link for the damage.

 

Damage insurance

We offer bike hire damage insurance for € 15 per day per bike. These are the conditions of the insurance:

  • You insurance yourself against damage caused to the rental bicycle during the period in which you rent it.
  • The insurance covers the full value of the hired bike in the event of a crash or incidental accidental damage.
  • The insurance does not cover theft or loss of the bicycle for any other reason.
  • The insurance does not cover damage made while transporting a bike in your own vehicle
  • Always report the damage to us, no matter how small. We want to rent all our bikes in good condition to the next customer.
  • The insurance is linked to a specific bicycle. You cannot switch insurance between bicycles.
  • To contract the insurance you click on the insurance option in the booking form on this website.

Pick up service in emergency

We offer a Pick up service in an emergency that comes together with the damage insurance for € 55 per day per bike.

Same conditions as the damage insurance (see above), plus:

  • When you have mechanical problems with the bike and you are not able to repair it yourself we come and pick you up.
  • We give you a phone number that you can call that is available during the whole day.
  • The pick up service is only in the province Girona.
  • We do not pick you up when: a flat tire, chain comes off the rings, brake pads are touching the discs a little bit, changing the gears is not going perfectly.

Bike transport

  • We always advice to pick up the bike at our place (Carrer Enric Claudi Girbal i Nadal 16, Girona). Because then we can help adjusting the bike to your wishes (change to a different saddle, adjust the position of the handlebar, fine tune the pedals, etc).
  • In case you do want to book a bike transport to your accommodation we offer this service – ask us via email about the details. We then advise you to tell us all the details for the bikes because we will not be able to adjust the bikes when we deliver the bikes at your accommodation (our chauffeur is not a mechanic).
  • We can not come to your location during the rental period to adjust a bike or fix mechanical problems, for this you have to come to our workshop.
  • If you want to transport the bikes with your own car: be very careful with packing the bikes – many times we have seen damage made by our renters because of transporting the bikes themselves. Any damage made in the transport in your vehicle is your own responsibility – this kind of damage also does not include in our damage insurance.
